Sukhoi Su-34

The Su-34 (NATO: Fullback) is a Russian twin-seat, twin-engine supersonic fighter-bomber designed to replace the Su-24. Features include side-by-side cockpit arrangement with titanium armor protection, distinctive "platypus" nose containing advanced radar systems, and combat radius exceeding 1,100 km.

- Service ceiling: 17,000 m

- Powerplant: Two Saturn AL-31F M1 afterburning turbofans

- Weapons payload: 8,000 kg across 12 hardpoints

- Armament compatibility: Precision-guided munitions, anti-ship missiles

- Defensive systems: ECM suite, chaff/flare dispensers

- Service entry: 2014

- Notable feature: Extended crew comfort for long-duration missions

My notes:

- This jet stands out to me because of the side-by-side cockpit style. I think this layout has noticable benefits for CRM and also removes the need for any duplicate standby instruments that would be needed in a tandem layout.

- Tandem landing gear on fighter aircraft looks so good.
