Debut album from Linkin Park and first album from the Because Sound Matters series pressed on One-Step vinyl.

Hybrid Theory is the debut studio album by American band Linkin Park, released on October 24, 2000, by Warner Bros. Records. Recorded at NRG Recordings in North Hollywood, California, and produced by Don Gilmore, the album’s lyrical themes deal with problems lead vocalist Chester Bennington experienced during his adolescence, including drug abuse and the constant fighting and eventual divorce of his parents. Hybrid Theory takes its title from the previous name of the band as well as the concepts of music theory and combining different styles. It is also the band’s only album on which bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell does not play, however, he is credited as a songwriter on some of its tracks.

Hybrid Theory was recorded in the digital domain, it was then mixed through an analog electronic chain onto tape. Those original master tapes were then carefully transferred to 192/24 wav files that ended up being our audio source for the One-Step pressing. We used Neotech VR900-D2 180g vinyl compound, which is also known as Super Vinyl or Clarity Vinyl – the best in the world. Levi Seitz at Blackbelt Mastering (Metallica, Pearl Jam, Beyonce etc) cut the multiple sets of lacquers required – crucially all from the same lot of lacquers. Being a massive Linkin Park fan himself, Levi already knew every little sound on this iconic album. Special care has been taken to faithfully preserve the original sound with exceptional clarity and depth, capturing the recording’s nuances and subtleties at every step to create the best sounding record possible. The One-Step process is highly regarded among audiophiles and collectors for its’ unparalleled sound fidelity and represents the pinnacle of vinyl manufacturing & craftsmanship.

Personal notes: Album sounds still compressed, but less than before. I like the quality of the one-step vinyl, quiet groove noise, not much issues with clicks or other noises. I am fan of this album and Meteora since it was released and I remember watching videoclips on MTV those days. It gives crazy throwback to those days and I never heard this album to sound better. I hope you will like it. Bass, physical attack of the music from this vinyl is crazy. Play it loud.
